Commercial Information Circular No. 101/2005

European Union (EU)* : Imposition of a Definitive Anti-dumping Duty on Imports of
 Polyester Staple Fibres Originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 317/2003 dated 24 December 2003, the European Commission (the Commission) has published a regulation to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of polyester staple fibres originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China. A copy of the regulation is at Annex (pdf format) for reference. Salient points are set out below:

(a) Product  : Synthetic staple fibres of polyesters, not carded, combed or otherwise processed for spinning, falling within CN code 5503 20 00.
(b) Rate of Duty  :  49.7% of the net, free-at-Community-frontier price before duty (except for six companies with individual duty rates ranging from 4.9% to 26.3%).
(c) Effective Date 18 March 2005
