Dear Sirs,

Commercial Information Circular No. 353/2004

South Africa : Termination of Anti-dumping Duty Imposed on Imports of Blankets of Acrylic Fibre or Blankets Partially Containing Acrylic Fibre Originating in the Mainland of China and Imported from Hong Kong

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 107/99 of 17 July 1999, we were recently informed by the South African authorities that they had terminated the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of blankets of acrylic fibre or blankets partially containing acrylic fibre originating in the mainland of China and imported from Hong Kong. Copies of the South African Government Gazette and the relevant report are at Annex (pdf format) for reference.

DETAILS

  1. Definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of blankets of acrylic fibre or blankets partially containing acrylic fibre originating in the mainland of China and imported from Hong Kong had been imposed since 18 June 1999. The rate of duty was R13.09/kg to R20.55/kg. In the absence of any request for an expiry review, the South African authorities decided to terminate the subject anti-dumping duty retrospectively from 18 June 2004.
