European Union (EU)* :Amendment to Regulation Setting Maximum Levels for Certain Contaminants in Foodstuffs

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 72/2001 of 28 March 2001 informing the trade of the Commission Regulation (EC) No. 466/2001 on the maximum levels for certain contaminants allowed in foodstuffs, the European Commission (EC) has adopted two amendments to the Regulation setting out the maximum levels of lead, cadmium and mercury in certain fishery products and aflatoxin in nuts, dried fruit, cereals and maize. Details are set out in Commission Regulation (EC) Nos. 221/2002 and 257/2002, copies of which are at Annex I (pdf format) and Annex II (pdf format) of this Circular for reference.
