Dear Sirs,

Commercial Information Circular No. 158/02
South Africa : Expiry Review of the Anti-dumping Duty on Aluminium Hollowware

Please refer to paragraph 3 of Commercial Information Circular No. 46/2002 of 11 March 2002.

  1. We have clarified with the South African Board on Tariffs and Trade (BTT) that the expiry review of the anti-dumping duty on aluminium hollowware does not cover products originating in Hong Kong. The BTT confirmed that no anti-dumping duties were ever imposed on aluminium hollowware originating in Hong Kong, and that the expiry review in question was only initiated against anti-dumping duty imposed on aluminium hollowware originating in the mainland of China and exported from Hong Kong and the mainland of China. In light of this, we have further requested the BTT to ensure that aluminium hollowware of Hong Kong origin would not be mentioned in any future notices or announcements about the subject expiry review.
