Commercial Information Circular No. 93/98
South Africa : Imposition of Provisional Anti-Dumping Duty on Imports of Stainless Steel Hollowware Originating in Mainland China
(or Originating in Mainland China and Exported from Hong Kong)
Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 187/97 of 23 December 1997, the Department has received information that the Board on Tariffs and Trade (BTT) of South Africa has announced in its Government Gazette imposition of provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of stainless steel hollowware originating in Mainland China (or originating in Mainland China and exported from Hong Kong). A copy of the Government Gazette is appended (pdf format) to this circular for reference. Details are set out below.
DETAILS
2.| (a) Product Coverage : | Saucepans, steamers, stewpans, casseroles or frying pans, or sets containing such items, of stainless steel, not plated with precious metal, classifiable under tariff subheading 7323 9320; and those products plated with precious metal, classifiable under tariff subheading 7323 9390; |
| (b) Rate of Duty : |
(i) For products originating in Mainland China : Tariff subheading 7323 9320 : R33.30/kg Tariff subheading 7323 9390 : R33.76/kg (ii) For products originating in Mainland China and exported from Hong Kong : Tariff subheading 7323 9320 : R34.91/kg Tariff subheading 7323 9390 : R29.06/kg; and |
| (c) Effective Date : | 22 April 1998 for 26 weeks, up to and including 21 October 1998 |
