Commercial Information Circular No. 313/2024

The Mainland of China : "Notice of the Office of the Leading Group of Guangdong Province for Comprehensive Implementation of Standardization Strategy on Invitation of Applications of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Standards"

The Guangdong Administration for Market Regulation promulgated on 17 April 2024 the "Notice of the Office of the Leading Group of Guangdong Province for Comprehensive Implementation of Standardization Strategy on Invitation of Applications of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Standards". The priority areas of applications include:

(1) relevant sectors set out in the "Guidelines on the Common Needs of 'Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Standards' in 2024" (For details of the Guidelines, please refer to CIC No. 203/2024 dated 19 March 2024: https://www.tid.gov.hk/english/aboutus/tradecircular/cic/asia/2024/ci2032024.html);

(2) relevant fields covered by the "Action Plan of Guangdong Province on Upgrading Standards to Promote Equipment Renewals and Trade-ins of Consumer Products" (For details of the Action Plan, please refer to CIC No. 306/2024 dated 19 April 2024: https://www.tid.gov.hk/english/aboutus/tradecircular/cic/asia/2024/ci3062024.html); and

(3) other related fields that meet the needs of promoting high-quality economic and social development of the GBA.

2.The relevant trades are welcome to submit applications in accordance with the specific requirements set out in the above-mentioned notice and the "Guidelines on Applications for 'GBA Standards'" for the assessment and examination of the Standardization Research Center for the GBA. The GBA Standardization Research Center for the GBA accepts applications all year round. Please refer to Appendix II (pdf format) for the full text of the "Guidelines on Applications for 'GBA Standards'" (available in Chinese only).
