Indonesia : Safeguard Measure on Cotton Yarn other than Sewing Thread

According to a communication circulated by the World Trade Organization (WTO), Indonesia has imposed a safeguard measure on the imports of cotton yarn other than sewing thread classified under the Harmonised System (HS) Codes 5205 and 5206. The communication (with document symbol G/SG/N/8/IDN/4/Suppl.4) can be obtained from the WTO's website at <http://docsonline.wto.org>.

DETAILS

2.Salient points of Indonesia's safeguard measure are set out below –

(a) Product Coverage : Cotton yarn other than sewing thread under HS Codes 5205 and 5206
(b) Additional Duty Rates :

6 June 2014 - 5 June 2015 Rp 28,065 per kilogram
6 June 2015 - 5 June 2016 Rp 25,522 per kilogram
6 June 2016 - 5 June 2017 Rp 22,979 per kilogram
(c) Exemption :
Imports of the concerned products originating from Hong Kong and the Mainland of China are subject to the safeguard measure. Please refer to the above-mentioned WTO communication for the list of developing countries excluded from the measure.
