Commercial Information Circular No. 220/2011

The Mainland of China : "Provisions on the Administration of Publication Market"

The General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP) and the Ministry of Commerce promulgated on 25 March 2011 the revised "Provisions on the Administration of Publication Market" (the Provisions), which took effect on the date of promulgation. The "Provisions on the Administration of Publication Market", the "Administrative Measures on the Wholesale, Retail and Renting of Audiovisual Products", the "Administrative Measures on Foreign-invested Enterprises Engaged in Distribution of Books, Newspapers and Periodicals", the "Administrative Measures on Chinese-Foreign Contractual Joint Venture Enterprises on Distribution of Audiovisual Products" and the related supplementary provisions previously promulgated by GAPP and related departments were abolished at the same time. A copy of the Provisions is attached at Appendix (pdf format) for reference.
