India : Imposition of Provisional Anti-Dumping Duty on Imports of Flax Fabrics originating in or exported from Hong Kong and the Mainland of China

Further to Commercial Information Circulars No. 529/2008 of 24 October 2008 and No. 106/2009 of 26 February 2009, the Ministry of Finance of India has announced the imposition of provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of flax fabrics originating in or exported from Hong Kong and the Mainland of China. The notification dated 26 March 2009 can be accessed at

  1. The Indian authority has announced that all goods falling under tariff heading 5309 (Flax Fabrics) originating in or exported from Hong Kong and the Mainland of China are subject to provisional anti-dumping duty. The rates are set out below:

For the subject products originating in or exported from Hong Kong: The rate is equivalent to the difference between INR205.52 per metre and the landed value of the imported goods per metre in Indian Rupee
For the subject products originating in or exported from the Mainland China: The rate is equivalent to the difference between INR204.89 per metre and the landed value of the imported goods per metre in Indian Rupee

The anti-dumping duties imposed will be effective up to and inclusive of 25 September 2009.
