The Mainland of China : Adjustment of the Catalogue of Restricted Products
for Processing Trade
The Ministry of Commerce and the General Administration of Customs jointly promulgated Notice No. 120/2008 on 31 December 2008 announcing the adjustment of the catalogue of restricted products for processing trade. With effect from 1 February 2009, a total of 1,730 ten digit tariff code items of certain plastics materials, plastics products, wood products, textiles, etc. will be removed from the catalogue of restricted products for processing trade promulgated in the "Notice No. 44/2007 of the Ministry of Commerce and the General Administration of Customs" (Notice No. 44/2007). The catalogue of restricted products for processing trade will contain 500 tariff code items after the adjustment. Processing trade of restricted products shall still be subject to the relevant regulations stipulated in the "Notice No. 97/2008 of the Ministry of Commerce and the General Administration of Customs" (Notice No. 97/2008). A copy of the Notice is attached at Appendix (pdf format) for reference.
