The Mainland of China : Notice Concerning Strengthening the Supervision on Food Safety 

The State Food and Drug Administration issued a notice concerning strengthening the supervision on food safety in the market on 24 November 2007. The Notice requires relevant departments to strengthen the supervision on food safety in the market, increase the capacity to evaluate and handle food safety incidents, including introduction of more severe punishment for such incidents, as well as strengthen the contingency work to handle emergency food safety incidents. A copy of the notice is attached at Annex (pdf format) for reference.
