Commercial Information Circular No. 335/2007

The Mainland of China : Notice Concerning the Payment of Standing Book Deposits for Customs Duty and Related Taxes

The Ministry of Commerce and the General Administration of Customs jointly issued notice No. 44/2007 concerning the "Catalogue of Restricted Products for Processing Trade" on 23 July 2007. Details of the notice have been set out in CIC No. 285/2007 dated 24 July 2007. The Ministry of Commerce, the General Administration of Customs and the China Banking Regulatory Commission jointly issued Notice No. 71/2007 on 5 September 2007, stipulating that processing trade enterprises can pay the standing book deposits for customs duty and related taxes in various forms including cash and letter of guarantee, following the procedures set out in relevant existing rules and regulations. A copy of Notice No. 71/2007 is attached at Annex (pdf format) for reference.
