The Mainland of China : Law on the Administration of Urban Real Estates
The Standing Committee of the Tenth National People's Congress passed the amendments to the "Law on the Administration of Urban Real Estates" on 30 August 2007, which took effect on the same day. The amended Law entitles the government to the right of expropriation only for public interests, and at the same time requires due compensations to be paid and habitation of relevant individuals to be guaranteed during the eviction, while exact measures will be regulated by the State Council. A copy of the amended Law is attached at Annex (pdf format) for reference.
