Dear Sirs,

Commercial Information Circular No. 304/2007

The Mainland of China : Preliminary Finding of Anti-dumping Investigation
Against Imports of Methyl Ethyl Ketone (C4H8O) from Japan, the Taiwan
Province and Singapore

The Ministry of Commerce (MOC) issued Notice No. 67/2007 on 8 August 2007, announcing the preliminary finding of the anti-dumping investigation against imports of methyl ethyl ketone (C4H8O) from Japan, the Taiwan Province and Singapore. The relevant tariff code of the General Administration of Customs is 2914 1200.

PRELIMINARY FINDING

  1. The preliminary finding reveals that dumping existed regarding the investigated products originated in Japan, the Taiwan Province and Singapore, with dumping margin ranged from 9.6% to 66.45%. It is found that such dumping had caused material injury to the domestic industry and that causal link existed. With effect from 9 August 2007, importers have to pass deposit according to the margin of dumping as guarantee to the General Administration of Customs for importation of the concerned products.

  2. Interested parties may submit written representation and supporting evidence to the Ministry of Commerce within 20 days from the date of announcement (i.e. 8 August 2007) for their consideration. For details, please make reference to MOC's notice at
    http://www.mofcom.gov.cn/aarticle/b/c/200708/20070804970031.html (Chinese version only).

  3. For details of the initiation of the subject anti-dumping investigation, please refer to CIC No. 463/2006 dated 23 November 2006.
