Dear Sirs,

Commercial Information Circular No. 134/2007

The Mainland of China : Preliminary Finding of Anti-dumping Investigation
Against Imports of Bisphenol-A (C15H16O2) from Japan, the Republic of Korea,
Singapore and the Taiwan Province

The Ministry of Commerce (MOC) issued Notice No. 24/2007 on 21 March 2007, announcing the preliminary finding of the anti-dumping investigation against imports of bisphenol-A (C15H16O2) from Japan, the Republic of Korea, Singapore and the Taiwan Province. The relevant tariff code of the General Administration of Customs is 2907 2300.

PRELIMINARY FINDING

  1.
  2. The preliminary finding reveals that dumping existed regarding the investigated products originated in Japan, the Republic of Korea, Singapore and the Taiwan Province, with dumping margin ranged from 5.3% to 37.1%. It is found that such dumping had caused material injury to the domestic industry and that causal link existed. With effect from 22 March 2007, importers have to pass deposit according to the margin of dumping as guarantee to the General Administration of Customs for importation of the concerned products.
  3. Interested parties may submit written representation and supporting evidence to the Ministry of Commerce within 20 days from the date of announcement (i.e. 21 March 2007) for their consideration. For details, please make reference to MOC's notice at
    http://www.mofcom.gov.cn/aarticle/b/c/200703/20070304479341.html (Chinese version only).
  4. For details of the initiation of the subject anti-dumping investigation, please refer to CIC No. 342/2006 dated 30 August 2006.
