The
Mainland of China : Rules on Foreign Trade Barriers Investigation
The Ministry of Commerce (MOC) promulgated the "Rules on Foreign
Trade Barriers Investigation" on 2 February 2005, which took effect
from 1 March 2005. The Rules govern the application, initiation, examination
and the decision making process of foreign trade barriers investigation.
For measures which are considered to be trade barriers, the MOC will
conduct bilateral consultations, file a case under the World Trade Organisation
(WTO) dispute settlement mechanism, or take other suitable measures
as appropriate. A copy of the Rules is attached at Annex for reference.
