Commercial Information Circular No. 343/2004

The Mainland of China: Measures on the Administration of China Energy Label

The State Development and Reform Commission (SDRC) and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) jointly promulgated the "Measures on the Administration of China Energy Label" on 13 August 2004, which will take effect on 1 March 2005. The Measures set out the content of an energy label and the procedures of the reporting system. A copy of the Measures is attached at Appendix (pdf format) for reference.

  1. According to the Measures, the SDRC, the AQSIQ and the Certification and Accreditation Administration promulgated the "Catalogue of Products Subject to China Energy Label (First Batch)", "Sample of China Energy Labels", "Implementation Details of Energy Label of Residential Refrigerator" and "Implementation Details of Energy Label of Room Air-Conditioner" on 29 November 2004, which will take effect on 1 March 2005.
