The Mainland of China : Guidelines on the Registration Administration of Individually Owned Stores Set up in the Mainland by Hong Kong and Macau Residents

To facilitate the implementation of the Supplementary Agreement to the Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement, the State Administration for Industry and Commerce recently promulgated the "Guidelines on the Registration Administration of Individually Owned Stores Set up in the Mainland by Hong Kong and Macau Residents". The document stipulates the guidelines for the registration work, including conditions and requirements for registration, requisite documents for registration, forms used for registration, reference catalogue for obtaining approval from other authorities prior to registration, verification of business scopes, standards of registration fees, etc. With effect from 1 January 2005, Hong Kong permanent residents with Chinese citizenship may register with industry and commerce administrative authorities in the locations of setting up their individually owned stores in accordance with the procedures stipulated in the Guidelines.
