The Mainland of China: New Practice on Handling of
Commercial Cases involving Foreign Parties
The Supreme People's Court of the People's Republic of China announced on 25 February 2002 the new practice on handling of commercial cases involving foreign parties. With effect from 1 March 2002, the Supreme People's Court has designated a number of courts (including the High Court and some Intermediate Courts) to handle commercial cases involving foreign parties in order to provide a high quality judicial environment for foreign investors. The new practice also sets out the type and scope of commercial cases handled by these designated courts. Please see Annex (pdf format) for details.
