Commercial Information Circular No. 151/02

The Mainland of China : Anti-Dumping Investigation against Imports
of Phenol (C6H5OH) from Japan, the Republic of Korea,
the United States, and Taiwan Province

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC) issued Notice No. 35/02 on 1 August 2002, announcing the initiation of anti-dumping investigation against imports of Phenol (C6H5OH) from Japan, the Republic of Korea, the United States and Taiwan Province. The relevant tariff listing of the General Administration of Customs is 2907 1110.

  1. Interested parties may approach MOFTEC and the State Economic and Trade Commission (SETC) to participate in the defence of investigation within 20 days and 30 days respectively from the date of the announcement (i.e. 1 August 2002). In the applications to MOFTEC, the interested parties should submit information about the quantity and value of Phenol exported to the Mainland during April 2001 - March 2002. In the applications to SETC, the interested parties should submit information about their existing manufacturing capacity and any expansion plans,etc.
