Dear Sirs,
Commercial Information Circular No. 149/2016
Argentina : List of Products Subject to Criterion Values
This circular supersedes Commercial Information Circular no. 659/2015 issued on 14 July 2015.
2.The Argentine government has implemented the criterion value mechanism on a broad range of imported products. Criterion values are import reference values established to tackle under-invoicing of imports and tax evasion. Imports with a declared value lower than the criterion value require payment of a guarantee equivalent to the difference in duties to be paid on the declared value and that on the criterion value. Imports will be granted customs clearance only if the guarantee is paid.
3.The list of products subject to criterion values is frequently modified and applied to imports from 26 country groups, of which Hong Kong is included in nine of them (Groups 4, 8, 10, 12, 17, 20-22 and 24). An updated list of the current criterion values is available at: http://www.afip.gob.ar/Aduana/valoracion/valores.criterios.pdf.
4.For details, traders are advised to consult their importers in Argentina and/or the above Argentine list of criterion values.
