Commercial Information Circular No. 2/2016
Colombia : Amendments of Labelling Requirements for Apparel, Footwear and Leather Goods
The Colombian government issued Resolution No. 3023/2015 and No. 3024/2015 on 18 September 2015 to amend the labelling requirements for apparel classified under the Colombian Customs Tariff Chapter 63, and footwear and leather goods classified under Heading 4202 of Colombian Harmonised Tariff Schedule (HTSCO) respectively.
2. For apparel classified under Chapter 63, the permanent label must contain the country of origin, the name of the manufacturer and/ or importer, care instructions of the product, textile materials used in the manufacturing of the product, etc. The label must be written in Spanish, legible, and located in a visible or easily accessible position.
3. For footwear and leather goods classified under Heading 4202, the permanent label must contain the country of origin and information on the materials used for the upper, lining, outsole, etc. The label must be written in Spanish, legible, and located in a visible place when the product is not being used.
