Commercial Information Circular No. 150/2015
Brazil : Modification of Import Tariffs and Establishment of Tariff Rate Quota on Various Products
The Brazilian government has modified the import tariffs of a number of products, and established tariff rate quotas on certain imports. A summary of the changes is set out as follows:
- Certain automotive parts classified under Southern Common Market (Mercosur1) Common Classification (NCM) chapters 39-40, 73, 76, 84-85, 87, 90 and 94 would benefit from a reduced duty of 2% from 19 December 2014.
- Certain information technology and telecommunications goods would benefit from a reduced duty of 2%:

- Certain capital goods classified under NCM chapters 84-87, and 90 would benefit from a reduced duty of 2% from 19 December 2014 until 30 June 2016.
- Certain capital goods classified under NCM codes 8602.10.00 Ex 012 and Ex 013would benefit from duty-free treatment from 19 December 2014 until 31 December 2015.
- Certain capital goods classified under NCM chapters 82, 84-86, and 90 would benefit from a reduced duty of 2% from 1 January 2015 until 30 June 2016.
- Certain capital goods classified under NCM codes 8602.10.00 Ex 008, Ex 009 and Ex 010 would benefit from duty-free treatment from 1 January 2015 until 30 June 2016.
- Tariff rate quotas were established or modified on certain imports which would enjoy reduced import tariff treatment. A summary of the changes is set out as follows:
