Dear Sirs,
Commercial Information Circular No. 139/2015
US : DOE's More Stringent Energy Efficiency Standards for Fluorescent Lamps
The Department of Energy (DOE) has recently promulgated the final rule for establishing stricter minimum energy efficiency standards for general service fluorescent lamps. The rule will enter into force on 27 March 2015 and compliance with the new standards will be required from 26 January 2018.
DETAILS
2.General service fluorescent lamps subject to the new standards include 4-foot medium bipin lamps, 2-foot u-shaped lamps, 8-foot slimline lamps, 8-foot recessed double contact high output lamps, 4-foot miniature bipin standard output lamps and 4-foot miniature bipin high output lamps. Under the final rule, the DOE adopted more stringent energy efficiency standards because it has determined that such standards would result in significant conservation of energy and are technologically feasible and economically justified.
