Chile : Implementation of Electronic Manifest System for Sea Cargo
Pursuant to the Commercial Information Circular No. 964/2012 of 23 November 2012 regarding the implementation of electronic manifest system for sea cargo in Chile, the Chilean government issued Exempt Resolution No. 10145/2013 on 30 September 2013 to add the port of Punta Arenas which started accepting electronic manifest on 1 October 2013.
2.For the transitional period of the first three months, paper manifest must be submitted to the port of Punta Arenas. Prior approval from the Chilean customs must be obtained for any clarifications made to the bills of lading transmitted to the electronic system during the transitional period.
