Dear Sirs,

Commercial Information Circular No. 872/2013

US : Countervailing Action against Frozen Warmwater Shrimp from the Mainland of China: Negative Injury Determination

The US International Trade Commission (ITC) announced in the Federal Register (FR) notice of 25 October 2013 its negative determination in the countervailing duty investigation against frozen warmwater shrimp from the Mainland of China. A copy of the FR notice is available at: http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2013-10-25/pdf/2013-25112.pdf.

DETAILS

2. The trade was informed via Commercial Information Circular No. 11/2013 that the ITC announced on 4 January 2013 the institution of countervailing duty investigation to determine whether there is a reasonable indication that an industry in the US is materially injured or threatened with material injury, or the establishment of an industry in the US is materially retarded, by reason of imports of frozen warmwater shrimp from the Mainland of China that are alleged to be subsidised by the Government of the People's Republic of China.

3. The ITC announced its finding that an industry in the US was not materially injured or threatened with material injury, and the establishment of an industry in the US was not materially retarded by reason of imports from the Mainland of China of frozen warmwater shrimp that had been found by the Department of Commerce (DoC) to be subsidized by the Government of China. The trade was informed via Commercial Information Circular No. 441/2013 of DoC's preliminary affirmative countervailing duty determination. As a result, this investigation has been terminated.
