Commercial Information Circular No. 865/2013

Ecuador : Technical Changes to Import Licensing Regime of Cell Phones

Pursuant to Commercial Information Circular No. 197/2013 of 7 March 2013 regarding the establishment of annual import quota on cell phones, the Ecuadorian government issued Resolution No. 104/2013 on 27 August 2013 to make certain technical changes to its import licensing regime for cellular phones with immediate effect.

2.The tariffs of cell phones classified under Harmonized Tariff Schedule of Ecuador (HTSEC) heading 8517.12 are revised. Detail of the revised tariffs is at the Table under Article 1 of the Resolution. Satellite phones classified under HTSEC 8517.12.00.99 are exempted from the annual quota limits for cellular phones.
