Commercial Information Circular No. 773/2013

Argentina : Renewal of Registration for Importers of Television Programmes

The Argentine government issued Decree No. 933/2013 on 15 July 2013 to require registered importers or distributors of television programmes and dubbing laboratories to renew their registrations, after which a new registration number will be assigned.

2. Importers and distributors of television programmes, movies, series and telefilms in foreign language and dubbing laboratories are required to register in the "Registry of Importers and Distributors of Television Programmes and Dubbing Laboratories" under the "National Institute of Film and Audiovisual Arts" ("Instituto Nacional De Cine Y Artes Audiovisuales" (INCAA) in Spanish).

3. Imported programmes are required to be broadcast in Spanish or in certain indigenous languages with certain exemptions. Details are set out in Law No. 26522. Foreign television programmes which are dubbed into Spanish must comply with the provisions, terms and conditions in Article 2 of Law No. 23316.
