Commercial Information Circular No. 708/2013

Chile : Exemption from Excise Duty for Certain Food for Athletes

The Chilean government issued Exempt Resolution No. 7111/2013 on 9 July 2013 to exempt from excise duty certain food for athletes under Chilean Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSCL) code 2202.90.40.

2. Other products eligible for exemption from excise duty are under HTSCL codes 2106.90.29, 2710.1940 (vacuum gas oil), 3604.10.00, 3604.90.00, 4301, 4302, 4303, 8903.92.00, 8903.99.00, 9109.00-9101.99, and 9304.00.00. Importers claiming such an exemption should select code 33 and state "exempt from additional duty" (or "Exentas impuesto adicional" in Spanish) on the Import Declaration.
