Argentina: Nutritional Labeling for Food Products
Pursuant to Commercial Information Circular (CIC) No. 385/2012 of 29 May 2012 that the MERCOSUR1 issued Resolution No. 1/2012 to establish technical regulations on supplementary nutritional information contained on the labels of the packaged food produced and sold in the MERCOSUR, and CIC No. 15/2013 of 7 January 2013 that the Brazilian government had incorporated the MERCOSUR Resolution into its national legislation, the Argentina government issued Joint Resolution No. 161/2013 and No. 213/2013 on 28 May 2013 to implement the technical regulations. The technical regulations will come into effect on 1 January 2014.
