Chile : Low-voltage Electrical Conductors Certification Requirements Compliance Deadlines Extended

The Chilean government issued Exempt Resolution No. 1330/2013 on 29 May 2013 to extend the compliance deadlines of low-voltage electrical conductors certification requirements.

2.The Chilean government issued Exempt Resolution No. 960/2011 on 1 April 2011 to require importers, domestic manufacturers and sellers of low-voltage electrical conductors to obtain safety conformity certification. The effective date of the Exempt Resolution was 1 June 2013.

3.Exempt Resolution No. 1330/2013 of 29 May 2013 extended the abovementioned deadline for certification requirements as follows:

			Performance of the cover at low temperatures (bending, stretching and cold impact)
			Thermal shock test of the cover
			Fire-resistance test. No flame propagation	30 June 2014
PE 2/16 PE 2/17			Voltage test for 4 hours	31 December 2013
			Hot set test for insulation
			Water absorption in insulation (gravimetric method)
			Insulation contraction test
			Mechanical properties of the cover: Tensile strength and elongation, with and without aging
			Pressure test of the cover at high temperatures (penetration)
			Performance of the cover at low temperatures
			Additional aging trials on finished cable parts
			Water absorption for the cover (gravimetric method)
			Fire-resistance test. No fire propagation - vertical flame (Category C)	30 June 2014

			Acid gas emission (bromine and chlorine)	30 June 2014
			PH and conductivity test	31 December 2013
			Fluorine content test	30 June 2014

			Fire propagation test (Category C)
