Mexico : Official Standard on Net Content Tolerances for Pre-packaged Products Amended

Mexico's Ministry of Economy has recently amended official Mexican standard NOM-002-SCFI-1993 which establishes testing and tolerance requirements for pre-packaged products.

DETAILS

2. The amended standard simplified and lowered the allowance tolerances in net content declarations for certain products. It applied the more stringent of the previously established two sets of tolerances to all covered products, and amended and clarified sampling and testing requirements as well as the criteria for determining compliance with the standard. It also included a more flexible way to calculate net content, and established new net content tolerances for toilet and laundry soaps and skin cleaners based on their date of manufacture.
