US : CPSC: Procedures and Requirements for Exclusions from Lead Limits for Children's Products Containing Lead

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced in the Federal Register (FR) of 10 July 2013 a final rule amending its existing regulations pertaining to procedures and requirements for exclusions from lead limits for consumer products designed or intended primarily for children 12 years old and younger.

2. This amendment reflects a law passed in 2012 to provide for a functional purpose exception from the lead content limits under certain circumstances and set forth the procedures for granting an exception, and is immediately effective.
