Commercial Information Circular No. 530/2013

US : Adjustment to the Value of Imported Cotton for Assessment Calculation

The US Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) issued a direct final rule in the Federal Register (FR) of 2 July 2013 to adjust the value assigned to imported cotton for the purpose of calculating supplemental assessments.

2. The value assigned to imported cotton for supplemental assessment calculation, currently at US$0.014109 per kilogram, will be reduced to US$0.012876 per kilogram with effect from 3 September 2013.


3. Separately, this direct final rule will also amend two Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) statistical reporting numbers for consistency with numbers published by the US International Trade Commission.  HTS code 5513390015 will be amended as 5513390115, and HTS code 5513390091 will be amended as 5513390191.

4. This direct final rule is effective 3 September 2013, unless significant adverse coment is received by 1 August 2013.  For further details, please refer to the FR notice at  http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2013-07-02/pdf/2013-15748.pdf.
