Dear Sirs,

Commercial Information Circular No. 506/2013

The trade was informed via Commercial Information Circular No. 964/2012 of 23 November 2012 of the Chilean government's Exempt Resolution No. 7591/2013 implementing the electronic manifest system for sea cargo.

2.After evaluating the operation of the electronic manifest system since its implementation, the Chilean government issued Official Circular No. 0131 on 14 May 2013 to establish additional requirements to make this system more efficient. The additional requirements for the electronic transmission of bills of lading are:

  1. The address, telephone number and/or email address of the shipper and consignee must be provided in addition to their names.

  1. In the instance where a consignee is a forwarder, the term "forwarder" and the forwarder's RUT (Rol Único Tributario, Taxpayer's Identification Number) must be stated.

  1. The form of payment of the freight must be indicated.

  1. If a warehouser has more than one bonded warehouse, the warehouse code must be provided.

  1. Description of goods must be sufficiently clear to identify the type of goods covered by the bill of lading.

3. For details, traders are advised to consult their importers in Chile and/or the abovementioned Chilean Official Circular (in Spanish), which is available at http://www.aduana.cl/oficio-circular-n-0131/aduana/2013-05-14/165055.html.
