Commercial Information Circular No. 442/2013

Chile : Washing Machine Certification Requirements Compliance Deadlines Extended

The Chilean government issued Exempt Resolution No. 542/2013 on 13 April 2013 to extend the compliance deadlines of washing machine certification requirement until 31 July 2013.

2. The Chilean government issued Exempt Resolution No. 3625/2011 in December 2011 to require importers and domestic producers of electric washing machines to obtain energy efficiency conformity certificates. It then issued Exempt Resolution No. 1495/2012 in August 2012 to require importers and domestic producers of electric washing machines and washing machine/dryers to obtain safety conformity certificates. The effective dates of the Exempt Resolutions were 29 March 2013 and 31 March 2013 respectively.

3. Exempt Resolution No. 542/2013 of 13 April 2013 extended the abovementioned deadlines for both certification requirements to 31 July 2013.
