US : EPA : Revised Data Requirements for EPA Registration of Antimicrobial Pesticide Products

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced in the Federal Register (FR) of 8 May 2013 a final rule revising data requirements for the registration of antimicrobial pesticide products. DETAILS

2. Antimicrobial pesticides are used to control microbiological contamination in healthcare applications, and deterioration in industrial, commercial, and consumer products. The common public health antimicrobial products include sterilants, disinfectants, and sanitizers. The amendments contained in the final rule change the existing data requirements for antimicrobial pesticides to reflect current scientific and regulatory practice, and to provide clearer and transparent information about the data needed to support pesticide registration decisions for antimicrobial products.

3. The final rule is effective on 8 July 2013.
