Dear Sirs,

Commercial Information Circular No. 326/2013

Brazil : Modification of Drug Testing Import Procedures

The Brazilian government issued Resolution No. 10/2013 and No. 11/2013 on 6 March 2013 to modify provisions for imports of certain drugs and related products.

2.Resolution No. 10/2013 exempts from sanitary inspection samples and sample collection kits intended for doping control tests under the sanitary vigilance regime when they are imported by a laboratory and/or entity recognised by the Brazilian Authority for Doping Control (ABCD). The exemption does not apply to certain substances subject to special control as set out in Resolution No. 39/2012.

3.Resolution No. 11/2013 requires the import of substances and drugs contained in Resolution No. 39/2012 to be subject to special control. It sets out the application procedures and requirements to establish the annual and supplementary import quota, import licence or non-objection certification for imports of such substances and drugs.
