Argentina : Registration Requirements for "Risk I" Household Cleaning Products

The Argentine government issued a Decree No. 1112/2013 in February 2013 to establish the registration requirements for "Risk I" household cleaning products, which include all cleaning and related products, except those that are caustic or corrosive.

2."Risk I" household cleaning products are required to comply with various application and labelling requirements. The registration for "Risk I" products is valid for five years and must be completed before the sale of the products. Failure to re-register after the validity period will lead to the cancellation of the registration.

3.The Decree does not apply to "Risk II" products, which include cleaning products with anti-microbial properties, products with disinfectant properties (insecticides, acaricides, etc.), products with a pH level lower than two or higher than 13, or products with high oxidising or reducing properties, and bacterial-based biological products.
