Commercial Information Circular No. 320/2013

Brazil : Simplification of Procedures to Verify Origin of Imports Not Subject to Trade Remedy Measures

The Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade of Brazil issued Decree No. 6/2013 in February 2013 to simplify the procedures to verify the origin of products not subject to trade remedy measures.

2.Instead of a Certificate of Origin, importers of such products should obtain a Declaration of Origin from the producer or exporter prior to importation for each single application for import licence. They are required to keep the Declaration of Origin for five years.
