Canada : Anti-dumping and Countervailing Actions against Certain Silicon Metal from the Mainland of China : Initiation of Investigations

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) published a notice on 22 April 2013 announcing the initiation of investigations into the alleged injurious dumping and subsidizing of certain silicon metal originating in or exported from the Mainland of China. On 23 April 2013, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) issued a notice announcing the commencement of a preliminary injury inquiry to determine whether the alleged dumped or subsidized imports had caused injury or retardation or were threatening to cause injury to the Canadian industry. The notices by the CBSA and the CITT are available respectively at:

2.Details of the CBSA's investigations, including its investigation schedule, are available at http://cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/sima-lmsi/i-e/menu-eng.html. The Statement of Reason on the case will be released by 7 May 2013 at the same website. Parties wishing to participate in the CITT's inquiry must file a notice of participation with the CITT by 8 May 2013.

The Bureau is responsible for, among others, conducting anti-dumping investigations, and guiding and coordinating enterprises in the Guangdong Province in responding to anti-dumping investigations against products from the Guangdong Province.
