Commercial Information Circular No. 197/2013

Ecuador : Import Quota on Cell Phones

The trade was informed via Commercial Information Circular No. 826/2012 of 12 October 2012 that the Ecuadorian government established annual import quota on cell phones classified under Harmonized Tariff Schedule of Ecuador (HTSEC) 8517.12.00.90 in December 2012. The Ecuadorian government issued Resolution No. 100/2012 to establish a recycling target of 2.5 old cell phones for every new cell phone imported into Ecuador. The maximum quota for recycling is set out in Annex I to the Resolution.
