Commercial Information Circular No. 188/2013

Mexico : Energy Efficiency and Safety Requirements for Fluorescent Lamps

The Mexican government published in the Official Gazette (Diario Oficial de la Federación) of 9 January 2013 a new official standard NOM-017-ENER/SCFI-2012 on fluorescent lamps.  The official standard establishes the minimum luminous efficiency levels, safety requirements, applicable test methods and marking requirements for certain self-ballasted compact fluorescent lamps.  For details including implementation dates for various requirements, please refer to the relevant Gazette notice (in Spanish) available at: http://dof.gob.mx/nota_detalle.php?codigo=5284393&fecha=09/01/2013.
