Commercial Information Circular No. 160/2013
Brazil : Conformity Certification Requirements for Various Products
The National Institute of Metrology, Standardization and Industrial Quality (INMETRO) of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade of Brazil issued Decrees in December 2012 to establish the conformity certification requirements and compliance dates for various products:
(a) Electric wires, cables and cords
| Compliance Date | Application Criteria | |

| (i) | 7 June 2014 | manufacture and import of such products |
| (ii) | 7 December 2014 | domestic sale of such products by manufacturers and importers |
| (iii) | 7 December 2015 | domestic sale of such products by all other parties |
(b) Safety matches

| (i) | 7 June 2014 | manufacture and import of such products |
| (ii) | 7 December 2014 | domestic sale of such products by manufacturers and importers |

(c) Vehicle lift platform

| (i) | 7 December 2014 | manufacture and import of such products |

2.The INMETRO issued Decree No. 643/2012 on 30 November 2012 to amend the conformity evaluation requirements for air conditioners.
