Argentina: Prohibition of Importation of Certain Household Air Conditioning Equipment

The Argentine government issued a Resolution No. 1640/2012 to prohibit the manufacture, assembly, sale and importation of household air conditioning equipment with a rated power of not exceeding 21 kilowatts that operates with the ozone depleting substance chlorodifluoromethane, HCFC-22, CAS number 75-45-6 which is included in Group I of Annex C of the Montreal Protocol. The ban on the manufacture, assembly and importation of such household air conditioning equipment will be effective from 30 June 2013 and the ban on the sale of such products will take effect from 30 September 2013.
