Commercial Information Circular No. 130/2013

Mexico : Tariff Reduction for Certain Textiles, Clothing and Footwear Products

The Mexican government published in the Official Gazette (Diario Oficial de la Federación) of 31 December 2012 a decree amending its tariff reduction program on certain textiles, clothing and footwear products. The relevant official notice (in Spanish) is available at:

DETAILS

2.The trade was informed via Commercial Information Circular No. 587/2010 of 16 December 2010 the phased implementation of the Mexican government's tariff reduction program on a range of products. The Mexican government recently announced modification to the program. Specifically, reduction of tariffs on a number of textiles, clothing and footwear items originally scheduled for 1 January 2013, is now delayed to 1 January 2014. That said, the tariff rates on certain other textiles, clothing and footwear items have been lowered effective 1 January 2013. For implementation details concerning the respective tariff lines, please refer to the above-mentioned notice.
