Commercial Information Circular No. 107/2013

Canada : Importation of Energy-Using Products

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) issued on 25 January 2013 a revised memorandum (Memorandum D19-6-3) to reflect Amendment 11 to the Energy Efficiency Regulations. The memorandum outlines the procedures for the control of importation of energy-using products. It is available at: http://cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/dm-md/d19/d19-6-3-eng.html.

2.The Canadian Energy Efficiency Act and Energy Efficiency Regulations prohibit the importation of certain energy-using products unless they meet specific requirements. Among others, importers of the regulated products must provide the CBSA with prescribed data elements in the appropriate format.
