Commercial Information Circular No. 979/2012

Mexico : Official Standard for Glass and Glazing Systems for Buildings

The Mexican authorities published in the Official Gazette (Diario Oficial de la Federación) of 18 October 2012 an official standard NOM-024-ENER-2012 for glass and glazing systems for buildings. The relevant Gazette notice (in Spanish) is available at:

DETAILS

2.The official standard applies to domestically produced and imported homogeneous, transparent and translucent glass and glazing systems for use in buildings. It establishes certification requirements in relation to the optical and thermal characteristics of glass and glazing systems. It also specifies the test methods and labelling requirements etc for the products concerned.

3.The official standard will enter into force 180 days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
