Commercial Information Circular No. 870/2012

Mexico : Official Standard for Infant Formulas and Food and Beverages for Infants and Young Children

The Mexican Ministry of Health published in the Official Gazette (Diario Oficial de la Federación) of 10 September 2012 a new official standard NOM-131-SSA1-2012 for infant formulas as well as food and beverages for infants and young children. The relevant notice (in Spanish) is available at:

DETAILS

2.The official standard establishes the health, nutritional, testing, labelling and packaging requirements etc for the covered products. Save for limited exceptions, the new standard will enter into force 120 calendar days after its publication.
