Brazil : Validity of Conformity Certification Requirements for Helmets for Drivers and Passengers of Motorcycles and Similar Vehicles

The National Institute of Metrology, Standardization and Industrial Quality (INMETRO) of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade of Brazil issued Decree No. 456/2010 in December 2010 to set out the conformity certification requirements for helmets for drivers and passengers of motorcycles and similar vehicles. The INMETRO issued Decree No. 374/2012 on 20 July 2012 to determine that the registration of helmets for such purposes will be valid for 48 months from the date of granting the Certificate of Conformity. The Decree also required the conformity seal to be sewn on the retention system of the helmet.
